Each week, using the SIC score players page, our staff picks a handful of DFS players with favorable matchups due to injury. Last week, our selections of Justin Jefferson, CeeDee Lamb and Jeff Wilson Jr. came through, while Austin Ekeler had a rare dud of a game.
Check out more details here:
Coming off a bye week, Higgins should have no trouble getting open against the Steelers. No. 1 cornerback Ahkello Witherspoon has not practiced this week with a hamstring injury and is likely to miss the contest.
In two weeks without Ja'Marr Chase in the offense, Higgins has averaged 10.95 fantasy points. Those are relatively lackluster numbers against the Browns and Panthers, but the Steelers allow the second-most fantasy points to receivers this season.
Pacheco has started the last three games for the Kansas City Chiefs over former first-round pick Clyde Edwards-Helaire. He fumbled in the red zone last week and was still getting touches over CEH. So, Andy Reid must trust him, and he’s averaging almost five yards per carry this year. Also, Pacheco’s a part of the highest-scoring offense in the NFL, averaging 30 points per game.
This week he plays the Los Angeles Chargers, who have the 30th-ranked run defense. Lastly, the Chargers have the lowest rush defense (63.3) SIC score.
Amari Cooper is the WR17 in fantasy football this year. But he’s had some duds on the road, such as last week's three catches for 32 yards. He has yet to finish higher than WR 32 on the road this season.
Nevertheless, this game is considered a neutral site game since the NFL decided to move the team's game versus the Bills to Ford Field in Detroit. Playing in a stadium bodes well for Cooper, who has received 10 deep targets and nine red zone targets this season.
Cooper is also facing a Bills defense bludgeoned by injuries. The Bills have the lowest pass defense (62.3) SIC score.
Panthers' top wideout DJ Moore followed up a 152-yard game in Week 8 with a combined six catches for 53 yards in the last two contests, but has a strong bounce-back chance against the fifth-worst passing defense in the NFL.
Even during their three-game winning streak the Ravens have still been soft in the secondary, and they can credit that to a 69.9 pass defense SIC score.
Moore had five receptions for 90 yards in his only career game vs Baltimore in 2018 and the Ravens are the sixth-worst fantasy defense against wide receivers at 31.1 points per game.
