This NFC West matchup features injuries at key spots for both teams, including newly relevant Brock Purdy and rookie breakout Kenneth Walker III.
The Pro Football Docs expect Purdy to play through his oblique injury, but he will be limited on deep throws.
Playing in their second game without Deebo Samuel this season, the 49ers still have plenty of offensive firepower to turn to.
The main key on offense will be the health of the third-string quarterback Brock Purdy, who suffered a left oblique injury in the team’s dominant win over the Buccaneers. Purdy is likely to play, but will have limited ability to throw deep, according to the Pro Football Docs.
Purdy was effective hitting the underneath routes against Tampa Bay, completing 16 passes on 21 attempts for 185 yards and 2 touchdowns.
Expect that trend to continue against a Seahawks defense that allows 6.2 yards per passing attempt, which ranks 16th in the league this season.
On defense, the 49ers have multiple depth pieces ailing. Those names include three cornerbacks, three defensive tackles and a defensive end.
Starting defensive tackle Arik Armstead has been banged up all campaign and has been limited in practice with foot and ankle issues.
The other defensive tackle Javon Kinlaw has missed a majority of the season with a knee issue and Emmanuel Moseley is lost for the year with a torn ACL, but the rest of the dominant defense is intact.
Rookie sensation running back Kenneth Walker III logged a full practice on Tuesday and Wednesday, setting him up to return from his ankle injury against San Francisco.
Walker’s ankle issue did not appear severe by video, but he may not play full snaps given that his injury was 11 days ago, according to the Pro Football Docs. Either the Seahawks have always had this game as a target for Walker's return or it's a rush back into action move after last week's loss to the Panthers.
Travis Homer will likely get the passing down work and could see more rushes with Walker less than 100%.
The Seahawks are otherwise healthy on offense, as D.K. Metcalf has been taken off the injury report for his hip issue.
Seattle may be down nose tackle Al Woods, but Shelby Harris will play despite missing practice on Monday with an illness.
San Francisco is favored by 3.5 points in Seattle and the over/under is 43.5, according to FanDuel Sportsbook.
U43.5
With the 49ers down Samuel and Walker at less than 100% for the Seahawks, both offenses will likely struggle to put up points.
