2023 NFL Draft: Top 6 Injuries To Monitor After The Scouting Combine

Jordan Addison, WR, USC

The 2021 Biletnikoff Award winner and potential first-round wideout Jordan Addison reportedly ended his combine early after he experienced a minor back strain and he said he expects to be healthy and a full-go for his pro day on March 21.

Addison logged a 4.49 40-yard dash, 34-inch vertical jump, and 10'2" broad jump and will be able to show off his on-field athleticism in a controlled environment in two-and-a-half weeks.

Jalin Hyatt, WR, Tennessee

The ascribed speedster of the 2023 wide receiver Draft class, Jalin Hyatt, suffered a right hamstring strain while running routes during his position workouts that shouldn't be an issue going forward.

The 21-year-old said that he will do a full workout, including positional work, at his pro day on March 30 after he ran a 4.40 40-yard dash with a 40" vertical leap and 11-foot-3-inch broad jump.

Jayden Reed, WR, Michigan State

Wide receiver Jayden Reed wore sunglasses to his combine media availability because he “really, got, like, one eye” due to a significant right eye infection but he still completed his combine workout and ran a 4.45u 40-yard dash.

JL Skinner, Safety, Boise State

The week before the scouting combine, projected Day 2 defensive back JL Skinner reportedly suffered a torn pectoral and underwent surgery that will prevent him from doing a full workout before the Draft.

Similarly, Georgia edge-rusher Nolan Smith underwent surgery for a torn right pectoral muscle on November 3rd and he excelled at the combine nearly four months later.

Andrew Vorhees, OL, USC

First-team all-american interior offensive lineman Andrew Vorhees reportedly appeared to suffer a lower right leg injury during positional drills and had to be helped off the field.

The 6'6", 310-pounder started all five years at USC and was middle-of-the-pack in the classic athleticism measurements over the weekend.

Richard Gouirage, OL, Florida

Four-year Florida starting left tackle Richard Gouirage wasn't able to complete combine drills on Sunday because he reportedly suffered an ankle injury during a “pain tolerance test," although the NFL fought back on the terminology reported by Ian Rapoport.

Gouirage was a rising prospect after an impressive Senior Bowl showing but will have to wait until a pro day later this month to re-ignite that interest.
