2022 record: 7-10 | 2023 FanDuel O/U win total: 8.5
Pitts is returning from a multi-ligament knee injury he suffered Week 11 last season and is unlikely to be 100% early in the season. His injury was reportedly an MCL sprain, but those rarely require surgery. That leads our panel of doctors to conclude that he had additional damage to the ligaments in his right knee.
Based on video of the hit, it’s not impossible that he’s placed on the PUP list to start the season. Pitts has lofty expectations entering his third season in the league, but the Pro Football Docs are guarded in their health-based expectations for him early this season. His score of 57 is based on his health entering training camp.
That score could go up if there is convincing video showing he is healthier than expected.
Patterson was placed on IR last season due to a “minor” knee surgery needed following Week 4. He returned early November and finished the season without issue. We expect Patterson to be ready for OTA’s and Week 1, but he is third on the running back depth chart because of his “veteran” knees.
The former Titan is still reeling from the effects of his 2020 torn ACL while with the Steelers. He has been limited to 11 games each the past two seasons and has not had the same results as his pre-injury form. Dupree is slotted in as the starting strongside linebacker, but expect the Falcons to rotate in 24-year-old Arnold Ebiketie to spell Dupree.
