49ers CB Jason Verrett Injures Right Knee, Hope Is He Avoids ACL Tear

San Francisco 49ers cornerback Jason Verrett exited the game in the fourth quarter with a right knee injury. By video, he plants the right foot while in coverage on a receiver and attempts to go back the other way, but his right foot slips and he injures his knee. The hope is by his right foot slipping out he avoids the disaster of an ACL tear.

UPDATE

Reports say Verrett was carted to the locker room and he has been ruled out for the game. After the game, Head Coach Kyle Shanahan said he fears Verrett tore his ACL. We were hoping the foot slip helped Verrett avoid disaster, but it is not looking that way. This would be his second ACL tear, after he tore the ACL in his left knee in 2017.
