49ers CB K'Waun Williams Likely Heading To IR With Calf Strain

San Francisco 49ers cornerback K'Waun Williams is dealing with a calf strain and is likely heading for an IR stint. Williams suffered the injury in the first quarter of the Week 3 game against the Packers and was replaced by rookie Deommodore Lenoir. Head coach Kyle Shanahan told reporters Monday that Williams will miss "a few weeks" and since the 49ers are so thin at corner right now that likely means the 30-year-old will be placed on IR. San Francisco also lost veteran cornerback Josh Norman against the Packers and Norman is likely to miss this week's game against the Seahawks as he recovers from bilateral lung contusions. The team is reportedly expected to sign 32-year-old cornerback Buster Skrine to add depth. In Week 1, San Francisco lost second-string cornerback Jason Verrett to an ACL tear. No. 1 corner Emmanuel Mosley played his first game of the season Week 3 after a knee injury kept him out of the first two games.
