49ers Open Practice Window For George Kittle, Jeff Wilson Jr. Expected Later

The 49ers are expected to open the practice windows for tight end George Kittle and running back Jeff Wilson Jr. this week. We expect Kittle to return immediately from his calf strain and be available to face the Cardinals. Kittle was placed on IR ahead of the team's Week 5 matchup, meaning he missed three games and the bye week. The month off should mean his calf strain is completely healed and he should have no ill effects.

Wilson is a different story. We expect it to take the whole three week practice window to see if he is ready to return from his offseason meniscus tear. His estimated return is late November, thus opening his practice window now would put him on track for that. However, if the 3-4 49ers are not in contention by the end of November it would make more sense to shut him down and have him fully healthy for next season.
