Kings' point guard De'Aaron Fox reportedly suffered a right knee bone bruise in the second quarter on Halloween and there is “hope” he could return soon.
Bone bruise recoveries are difficult to predict because it is dependent on immobility, but the lack of structural damage will likely simplify the rehab.
Fox scored 27.8 points with 7.2 rebounds and 5.6 assists in the first five games, but Sacramento has started 2-4.
Suns' center DeAndre Ayton suffered a left ankle sprain last Friday and will be re-evaluated at the end of the week.
The 24-year-old missed two weeks with a right ankle sprain last January and Bismack Biyombo, who has started the last two games, stepped in and averaged 14.1 points and 10.4 rebounds in 27.7 minutes in his place.
The Nets have ruled out versatile point guard Ben Simmons for the last two games with left knee soreness and swelling and he could reportedly miss the next three games.
The defensive dynamo suffered a left patella subluxation and associated damage in June 2020 in the bubble and eventually underwent surgery to remove a loose body. He hadn't dealt with any reported lingering affects up to this point.
Clippers’ head coach Tyronn Lue said that Kawhi Leonard will miss at least their Texas two-step against the Rockets and Spurs with continued soreness in his surgically-repaired right knee.
Leonard hasn’t spoken to reporters, but Lue has been steadfast that his knee issues aren’t a setback from his June 2021 torn ACL and he is improving.
The 31-year-old played in two of the first three games and averaged 12.5 points, 6.5 rebounds, and 1.5 steals in 21 minutes off the bench but hasn’t played since Oct. 23 while undergoing treatment in Los Angeles.
Trail Blazers’ all-star Damian Lillard will miss his second straight game with a right calf strain on Wednesday and reportedly could return as soon as Sunday.
The 32-year-old Portland lifer appeared to suffer the injury on a step-back three-pointer on October 26 and Lillard removed himself from the game before the strain could worsen.
Starting guard Josh Hart suffered a concussion and will likely miss multiple games and reserve guard Gary Payton II will remain out for at least another two weeks as he recovers from offseason core muscle surgery but the Blazers have started 5-1.
