Aaron Jones Dealing With Ankle Injury, Likely To Play Sunday Against Pittsburgh

Aaron Jones, the Packers star running back, suffered a right ankle injury in the win over the 49ers Sunday night and was limited in practice on Wednesday and Thursday. Jones suffered the injury on a run with just over three minutes left in the fourth quarter. By video, he appeared to step on a defensive lineman's foot and fall to the ground. He got up quickly, but favored the right ankle while he jogged to the sideline. The 26-year-old missed one play, then returned on the game-winning drive and finished the game. Given that Jones returned to the game just one drive later, we are not concerned with the limited practices. If a player misses one rep in practice due to an injury, then he is considered limited. Thus, it is not a great way to gauge exactly how injured a player is. We expect the Pro Bowler to suit up this Sunday against the Steelers. Backup running back A.J. Dillon was added to the injury report with a back injury on Thursday. If neither of those running backs can go, rookie Kylin Hill will get the start.
