Adam Thielen, the Vikings star receiver, suffered a left ankle injury on a first quarter catch against the Lions. By video, Thielen had his left ankle landed on by Detroit cornerback Jerry Jacobs, then stayed down before walking off on his own power. We have significant worry for a left high ankle sprain and he's unlikely to return to the ball game. Thielen has been deemed questionable to return with the ankle injury. Justin Jefferson should get even more targets in Thielen's absence.
The Vikings play next Thursday against the Steelers and we don't expect to see Thielen suit up for that game either.
Update
The veteran Vikings receiver has been ruled out for the game. This doesn't bode well for his status Thursday against the Steelers. We await further word on his ankle.
