The Bengals gamble to keep A.J. Green on the active roster instead of placing him on injury reserve has come up empty. Green will not play in London this week versus the Rams, which means his earliest possible return is after next week's bye. In retrospect, the Bengals could have placed him on injured reserve and brought him back for the week 10 game. He has a lingering high ankle sprain and will not play before the trade deadline. This week was the first realistic chance of playing, but given the bye next week and the extra rest made It an obvious decision to hold him out. Expect A.J. Green to play week 10 despite the fact that the Bengals could be winless.
