The Bears made the decision to put star defensive tackle Akiem Hicks on injured reserve a week after the dislocated elbow in London. There is likely more to this decision as to whether it is a complication to the dislocation or combination of this injury and his previous knee ailment. This might also have been done due to the need for roster spots on the Bears. Other players around the league have typically returned from this injury in three to four weeks (Like Mackenzie Alexander did for the Vikings). Of course, injured reserve puts him out a minimum of 8 games and perhaps the timing is to get him completely healthy come postseason.
