Bulls' do-it-all guard Alex Caruso missed the second half of Sunday's Game 4 loss after taking an inadvertent hit to the face from Jevon Carter's hand.
Caruso, who was recently inserted into the starting lineup to combat the Bucks' high-powered offense, was ruled out with a facial injury and reportedly underwent a concussion evaluation.
The concussion protocol was likely out of an abundance of caution, and based on video, the Pro Basketball Docs do not believe the impact was enough to cause a concussion.
If Caruso is just dealing with a nose injury, he will play in Game 5 on Wednesday.
Concussions, however, are difficult to predict solely by video and symptoms can emerge any time during the 24-hour NBA concussion protocol evaluation period.
Before the injury, Caruso went scoreless with four rebounds, four assists, two blocks, and one steal in 17 minutes, and the Bulls were outscored by 16 points with him off the floor.
Billy Donovan said after the game Caruso was fighting to re-enter the game until his nose began bleeding and he was taken to the locker room for a concussion evaluation.
The Bucks leads the series 3-1, as it heads back to Milwaukee.
As of Saturday evening, the Bulls were +2800 to win the series and the Bucks were favored at -10,000, according to FanDuel Sportsbook.
