Andrus Peat Leaves Game With Left Leg, Pectoral Injuries

Andrus Peat, the Saints starting left guard, injured his left leg and his pectoral muscle early in the second quarter of the Monday night game against the Saints. With just under 15 minutes left in the second quarter, Peat had his left leg rolled up on while he was engaged in a block. The replay angle was obstructed by other players, but he stayed down on the field and we had worry for a MCL sprain or high ankle sprain.

Peat returned to the game for one play, but was beat on a pass rush with just over 9 minutes in the game. He appeared to injure his pectoral muscle and went to the locker room. We hope he is just dealing with a pec muscle strain because a pec tendon rupture would end his season.

Update

The left guard is reportedly questionable to return with a shoulder injury. It would be great news if he is just dealing with a shoulder muscle strain, but we will learn more after the game.
