Anthony Davis is expected to make his return to the Lakers from a sprained left MCL on Tuesday night against the Nets, according to reports.
Davis has missed the last 38 days since suffering a patella subluxation when Minnesota forward Jaden McDaniels fell into and hyperextended his left knee, causing a worrisome stumble into the locker room.
Davis will return to a team in transition, as LeBron James has shuffled in-and-out of the center spot, Russell Westbrook shuffles in-and-out of the lineup, and Frank Vogel struggles with outsized outside pressure from fans and front office.
The max-contract trio of Davis, James, and Westbrook have only played 15 games together for 23-24 Los Angeles, and have struggled mightily without the connective glue of the generational 28-year-old forward. They are 8-7 in those 15 games with a 3.7 net rating.
In 27 games, the 8-time all-star is averaging 23.3 points and 9.9 rebounds on 52.7% shooting and 17.9% from behind the arc this season.
