Los Angeles Lakers Forward Anthony Davis left the Lakers 124-108 win over the Pelicans on Sunday with hip and back spasms. Lakers Head Coach Darvin Ham confirmed to reporters that Davis suffered spasms.
But postgame, both Davis and Ham shared their optimism that Davis will be ready to play on Tuesday vs. the Pelicans in the NBA Play-In Tournament.
Davis said his back “locked up” after being pushed from behind by Larry Nance Jr. on a layup. But said there is “no doubt that I am playing” on Tuesday.
Ham added he was “extremely optimistic” about Davis.
This season Davis played 75 games for the Lakers, the most regular season games he has played during his time in Los Angeles. The 75 games played also matched his career high, a mark he hit twice while playing with the Pelicans.
