Anthony Edwards Listed As Questionable With Right Ankle Sprain

Anthony Edwards, the Timberwolves second-year guard, is listed as questionable for Wednesday night's matchup against the Raptors after suffering a right ankle sprain Tuesday against the Hornets.

Edwards had 9 points in 17 minutes in the first half against the Hornets, but came up limping just before halftime.

A review of video did not show a specific injury play for Edwards. He was seen testing out his right ankle at halftime before he was ruled out for the second half.

Lack of clear video of the injury is typically a good sign and the ProBasketballDocs do not expect a long absence for the 20-year-old.

The fact that he was not ruled out or listed as doubtful for Wednesday's game is also a good indication that the ankle sprain is minor.

If he cannot play against the Raptors, second-year forward Jaden McDaniels would get a big boost in minutes.

McDaniels had 16 points, 5 rebounds, 3 assists and 2 steals in the second half and overtime of Tuesday's win over the Hornets.

Edwards is scheduled to participate in the Rising Stars game on Friday, but the ankle injury leaves his status for that game uncertain.

The Timberwolves next game after the All-Star break is Thursday, February 24 against Memphis.

At 31-27, Minnesota is seventh place in the Western Conference, 1.5 games behind the Denver Nuggets.
