On an early run against Pittsburgh, running back Antonio Gibson suffered an eversion type high ankle sprain. We do not believe this to be a significant injury and it seems he tried to give it a go as he was being checked out on the sideline. It was hard to see the foot as the defender fell on the back of the ankle and it was obscured. Often a mechanism for turf toe if the big toe is trapped and a return depends on swelling. He has been listed as doubtful to return and will not return. Expect a heavy dose of Peyton Barber as the game progresses. His return for next week will depend on the swelling and we will update if any news leaks out.
