Astros Injury Report: Jose Altuve Leaves With Right Groin Soreness

A day after hitting his second home run of the season, and his first since returning from a left hamstring strain, José Altuve had a rough day at the ball park.

José Altuve Injury Update

The 2017 MVP left the contest against the Mariners before the bottom of the 7th inning with what the team called “right groin soreness.”

Earlier in the game, he fouled a ball off his “right groin” area, but remained in the game and singled later in the at bat.

Altuve scored on a sacrifice fly to deep right field, but was replaced by Niko Goodrum in his next at bat. The score was 5-0 at the time.

The Astros went on to win 7-2 against Seattle.

Altuve Injury Outlook

The 31-year-old will likely be in the lineup for Thursday's series opener against the Tigers, 8-14. He may have lingering soreness, but nothing he can't play through.

Astros World Series Odds

Houston, 14-11, are one game behind the Angels in the AL West and are -145 to win the division, according to FanDuel Sportsbook. The Astros are +1100 to win the World Series.
