Astros designated hitter Yordan Alvarez is back in the lineup for Tuesday's tilt against the NL East leading Mets.
Alvarez suffered a hand injury in his last plate appearance Saturday and there was reportedly fear within the organization that he suffered a broken hamate bone.
Further exams revealed that was not the case and the 24-year-old did not have any structural damage to his hand.
He missed Sunday's game, then the Astros had an off day Monday.
The Astros did not specify which hand was injured, but hamate bone fractures typically happen in the bottom hand for hitters (the right hand for Alvarez).
Either way, the issue seems to be resolved and the leading vote getter for the DH spot in the American League will slot into the four spot against the Mets and righty Trevor Williams tonight.
Alvarez ($4,100 on FanDuel) is hitting .311 with 18 home runs and 47 RBIs this season.
