Todd Gurley - RB
This was our preseason injury preview verbatim from 2019. “Gurley’s troublesome knee, which was initially passed off as tendonitis two seasons ago, made him miss Weeks 12, 16 and 17 in 2018 and seemed to affect his play during the playoffs that season. He had 30 rushing attempts combined in three playoff games and was completely ineffective the last two games.” Much of the same applies for 2020 as he suits up for the Falcons. There may be some minor increased concern due to playing more games on turf, but today's artificial fields are more forgiving than in the past. After three straight years (2016-2018) of 300 plus touches, he fell short of that last season. This was to be expected since his knee no longer allows him to be the "bell cow" running back he used to be. This doesn't mean he isn't good anymore. However, in addition to the decreased touches, he averaged about a yard less per carry last year than in his previous seasons.
Julio Jones - WR
Julio Jones has a history of multiple toe/foot/ankle issues but this was not the case in 2019. A shoulder/AC joint injury caused him to miss one game last year but Jones enters 2020 with a clean bill of health. In another great year from the premiere wideout, he contributed 99 receptions for 1,394 yards and 6 scores.
Calvin Ridley - WR
Calvin Ridley had an abdominal injury and missed the final three games of the season on injured reserve. He has declared that he is fully healthy now going into the 2020 season, and figures to be a big part of the Falcons offense alongside Julio Jones. Ridley totaled 63 catches, 866 yards and seven touchdowns in his sophomore campaign, and looks to build on that as he is part of a reloaded Falcons offensive unit.
