Austin Ekeler, the Chargers star running back, injured his left ankle in Sunday's game against the Giants. By video, Ekeler had his left ankle landed on by a Giants defender and may not return to the game. We have worry for a high ankle component and it is something to monitor going forward. He was checked out in the blue injury tent and had his ankle heavily taped. His ankle could swell and significantly effect his ability to cut.
Justin Jackson would take over at running back if Ekeler cannot continue. The Chargers play next Thursday against the Chiefs in a key divisional matchup.
