Chargers head coach Anthony Lynn says Ekeler has a chance to play this week after a seven week stint on IR. His return has been fueled by the running back social media posts of working out, but we continue to believe that Ekeler will not play this week and if he does we'll have minimal impact on the game. With this type of injury, we initially projected him to go over the projected 6 week timeline and return around eight weeks after intial injury. The game of football is not that easy to be out two months and return for a couple of practices does not create the a picture of a fully recovered running back. Earlier in November we have said his return would be in December given the severity of the proximal hamstring partial tear, and we still think that is the appropriate timeline for Ekeler to return. Don't look for him this week and if he does suit up, we doubt he will have significant touches or be effective.
