The Browns tight end underwent surgery for appendicitis today and is out Sunday for the Bengals. He will be out for week 8 at least as well. The Browns have a week 9 BYE, giving him more time to recover. The next time we can expect to see Austin Hooper in the lineup is November 15th in a week 10 matchup versus the Texans. Until then, Baker Mayfield will have to rely on the recently-returned David Njoku as a safety valve in this offense.
