Baker Mayfield indeed returned to finish the game as we indicated from the previous post. By video, it appeared he suffered an AC joint injury and in the post game report, head coach Kevin Stefanski indicated a rib issue that will need x-rays as well. By our video analysis and the way that Mayfield held his arm paired with the way he went down, I am not doubting that there may be an additional rib issue. However, this does not rule out an AC joint injury as when he returned to the game, he still hung and shook his arm in a manner that in my 17 years of being on the sidelines, is consistent with AC joint injury but has been reported with a rib issue. He indeed may be dealing with both and the video of the injury indeed looked consistent with what happened to Jets QB Sam Darnold . In any case, look for Baker Mayfield to miss most if not all of practice this week but play for the Browns next game versus Pittsburgh.
