Quarterbacks - The Ravens’ quarterbacks have had their share of issues with injury this year. Not only did Lamar Jackson miss a game due to a positive COVID test, he also suffered a minor knee contusion in Week 5 and dealt with a groin injury throughout camp. None of these issues should affect him going into the playoffs, but it is worth noting that both Robert Griffin III (hamstring) and Trace McSorley (knee) are on injured reserve, forcing rookie UDFA Tyler Huntley into a role as backup moving forward.
Running Backs - Mark Ingram II went down with an ankle injury at midseason, missing Weeks 8 and 9, as well as Week 12 with COVID. His role has been seriously reduced at this point in the year, and he has been a surprising healthy scratch recently as JK Dobbins moves ahead.
Wide Receivers - Willie Snead missed two games with COVID, amidst a scare that saw Marquise Brown, Miles Boykin and James Proche nearly miss Week 15. Dez Bryant also tested positive right before a game started, and the outbreak has specifically been an issue for this position group in 2020. Snead is also currently dealing with an ankle injury that could limit his effectiveness
Tight Ends - Mark Andrews has been a key piece of the Ravens’ passing game as this offense has tried to reforge its identity this year. However, he missed Weeks 12 and 13 with a thigh injury and COVID respectively. He has been productive upon his return and continues to serve as a reliable option for Lamar Jackson as the playoffs approach. Unfortunately, his second tight end, Nick Boyle is out for the season with severe damage to his MCL, PCL and hamstring.
Offensive Lineman - Ronnie Stanley had just signed a massive contract extension in Week 8, when he suffered an ankle fracture/dislocation with ligament damage. This severe of an injury required season ending surgery, and the Ravens have since pushed Orlando Brown Jr. over to the left side of the line, with DJ Fluker on the right side. Fluker has dealt with shoulder, ankle and knee injuries this year however, and backup guard/tackle Tyre Phillips has dealt with shoulder and ankle injuries of his own.
Linebackers - Matt Judon missed two games on the Reserve/COVID list, but this should not be a problem moving forward, and he has been a solid pass rusher for the Ravens this year.
Yannick Ngakoue missed Week 17 with a thigh injury, and it was the first contest he missed this year. The severity of the injury is unknown, but he did not participate in practice at all heading into Week 17, and was listed as questionable.
LJ Fort has become a regular contributor in this defense at linebacker, but he did miss Weeks 9 and 10 with a finger injury. It has not slowed him down in his return though, and he is primed for their playoff run.
Defensive Lineman - The Ravens classically formidable defensive line has battled through many injuries this year, as we’ve seen Calais Campbell (calf/COVID), Derek Wolfe (elbow/back), Brandon Williams (COVID/ankle) and Justin Madubuike (knee/COVID) all miss two or more games this year. Their run defense has suffered as a result, but luckily they have all returned to the fold and are ready to fight through the playoffs.
Cornerbacks - Cornerback has been an issue of serious concern for Baltimore, especially recently. Their top 3 corners in Marcus Peters (calf), Marlon Humphrey (knee/shoulder) and Jimmy Smith (ribs/shoulder) have been largely unavailable as the regular season closed, and though Peters and Humphrey returned Week 17, questions remain here. Their depth has unfortunately been hurt as well, as Tavon Young and Davontae Harris sit on injured reserve. Anthony Averett and Tramon Williams have been banged up as well, but have been the only two corners not listed on the injury report in recent weeks. If this secondary cannot get healthy for the playoffs, it is going to be a serious problem for Baltimore.
