Injury Advantage: Rams Defense
Despite Lamar Jackson returning to practice, his right ankle bone bruise will likely keep him out another week and allow Tyler Huntley another start.
Huntley was placed on the COVID reserve list on Christmas, but is likely to return this week under the new, more lenient NFL COVID protocols.
The undrafted quarterback out of Utah has started two games this season, but has passed for less than 220 yards in each contest. However, he does have three touchdown passes this year and only one interception.
Since the beginning of training camp, Baltimore has lost running backs Gus Edwards, J.K. Dobbins and Justice Hill. Now they are left with veterans Devonta Freeman and Latavius Murray.
The Rams have only given up over 100 yards rushing six times this season. The most recent team to eclipse that mark was the Cardinals in Week 14.
Secondary Advantage: Rams Passing Offense
Matthew Stafford and star receiver Cooper Kupp get a matchup against a Ravens secondary that gave up 525 passing yards to Joe Burrow and the Bengals last week.
Baltimore’s top two cornerbacks are out for the season, plus Anthony Averett is dealing with a cracked rib, leaving him likely questionable to play.
Odell Beckham Jr. has filled the void left by Robert Woods’ ACL tear and performed well with his new team. He should be in for a big day along with Kupp.
Rams’ center Brian Allen was limited in practice Wednesday with a knee injury he suffered last Sunday, but their line is otherwise healthy.
