Bears LG Out With Pectoral Injury, Season Could be Over

James Daniels exited the Thursday night game with a reported pec injury, and while the play was not completely shown on TV there was worry about a pectoral tendon rupture. That has been confirmed now and there are reports that he is out for the rest of the season. Indeed he will need need surgery and there is an outside chance of late season or playoff return for the Bears offensive lineman. JJ Watt did it last year in 10 weeks in a heroic effort, and we'll see if Daniels can cash in on the small chance of return. The Bears are 4-1 despite instability at QB and there is a good chance they'll be playing meaningful football down the stretch, so getting him back late in the year would make sense. With Daniels out, the Bears will likely turn to Alex Bars, a Notre Dame product in his second year with the league.
