The Bears have activated running back David Montgomery off the IR list and he will play against the Steelers Monday night. This certainly is good news however, we do not expect a full Montgomery workload. He suffered the MCL sprain Week 4 against the Lions and has been on IR up until now. Earlier this week, practice video showed him still favoring the left knee. With the bye next week, the last thing the Bears want is a setback. We expect at best a split usage with Khalil Herbert, as reflected by Montgomery's SIC score of 45. The overall running back position score, given the absence of Damian Williams and Tarik Cohen, is at 56.
