Ben Roethlisberger and the Steelers have made a point to say he didn't undergo "Tommy John" surgery this past season. Roethlisberger indicates he tore three of the five flexor tendons in the elbow. The claim is he feels great but will be on a "pitch count" during camp this summer. No matter what you call it, the flexor tendons attach at the same point the ulnar collateral ligament (Tommy John) does. It is semantics at this point and I fully expect Roethlisberger to be ready to go. It is "easier" for quarterbacks to recovery from Tommy John surgery than pitchers.
