Blue Jays Injury Report: Teoscar Hernandez Nearing Return From Oblique Injury

The Blue Jays, 16-10, may get a power-hitting outfielder back from the injured list as soon as Friday.

Teoscar Hernandez Injury Update

The 29-year-old right fielder has been out since suffering a left oblique strain April 13, but Toronto manager Charlie Montoyo said he expects Hernandez to join the Blue Jays in Cleveland at some point this weekend.

Hernandez will make another rehab appearance at Triple-A Buffalo on Thursday. He reportedly already has a locker set up in the visitors clubhouse at Progressive Field.

Hernandez hit .296 with 32 home runs and 116 RBIs in 2021. He's started the year hitting .316 with 1 home run in six games.

George Springer Update

George Springer was also not in the lineup Thursday due to a scheduled rest day. He's hitting .277 with 6 home runs in 25 games this season, but was hitless in his last two games.

Blue Jays World Series Odds

Toronto are +130 to win the AL East, behind the Yankees at +105, according to FanDuel Sportsbook. The Blue Jays have the second-best odds to win the World Series, tied with the Yankees at +800.
