Massie was a surprise inactive for tonight's Monday night football game versus Washington. The initial reason is illness, which seems somewhat surprising to me as typically players try to play through them. Mike Garafolo then subsequently reported vertigo which now makes sense. It is certainly impossible to play football if you are feeling off balance and dizzy. Vertigo can be caused by a number of factors including an inner ear infection where your sense of balance is thrown off. I would expect the Chicago medical staff to have this handled by the Bears next game, but they will be short handed tonight at right tackle.
