Brewers starter Brandon Woodruff was placed on the 15-day IL (retroactive to May 28) with a right high ankle sprain that caused him to leave his start on Friday.
Brandon Woodruff Injury Update
The 29-year-old righty joins Freddy Peralta on the injured list, but said he hopes to make it back after a short absence.
Manager Craig Counsel told reporters the diagnosis is similar to the ankle injury Willy Adames suffered. Adames went on the 10-day IL in mid-May and began a rehab assignment on Monday.
Right-handed reliever Peter Strzelecki was selected from Triple-A Nashville to take Woodruff's place on the active roster.
After posting a 2.56 ERA in 30 starts last season, Woodruff has a 4.74 ERA in 9 starts this year.
Brewers World Series Odds
At 32-19, Milwaukee is -320 to win the NL Central and +1100 to win the World Series, according to FanDuel Sportsbook.
