Manager Craig Counsell told reporters on Tuesday that all-star closer Josh Hader is dealing with back spasms.
Josh Hader Injury Update
The flamethrowing left-hander was kept in the bullpen for a save opportunity on Tuesday night, thrusting setup man Devin Williams into the contest.
Counsell said that Hader began feeling tightness in his mid-back on Saturday, but would hopefully be available for Milwaukee later this week.
The Brewers led 18-3 going into the ninth inning on Wednesday, relieving Hader of any need to close.
The lanky lefty hasn't pitched since last Wednesday, April 27, after appearing 10 times in 18 days going back to April 10.
The 28-year old was named April's reliever of the month after allowing zero earned runs with 15 strikeouts in 9.1 IP, connecting on all 10 save opportunities for the 16-8 Brewers.
