Backup QB Jeff Driskel tested positive on Thursday. All three of the other quarterbacks have been placed on Reserve/Covid as Drew Lock, Brett Rypien and Blake Bortles apparently did not wear masks around Driskel, making them high risk close contacts with that determination. With the NFL rules Denver will be without a quarterback for Sunday's game. Their only out will be if the game is postponed or if they can find a loophole in the high risk rule which has people out for five days. Both players have tested negative in following days, but this is not enough to downgrade from high risk status per protocol. The Broncos had previously made Royce Freeman an emergency quarterback, but the starting job will most likely go to Wake Forest UDFA Kendall Hinton. Hinton is on the practice squad as a wideout, but played quarterback in college, passing for 1,504 yards, 8 TD's and an interception with a 53% completion rating.
