The Nets - SIC score 74.7 are coming off of back-to-back dominant performances from Kevin Durant and Kyrie Irving, but will play without Irving in Brooklyn.
The Nets continue to struggle at home, going 12-10 in games Durant has played and posting an abysmal 7-25 record against the spread at home.
Irving scored a franchise-record 60 points against the Magic on Tuesday, moving the Nets’ road record with Kevin Durant this season to 16-4.
Seth Curry and Cam Thomas were both ruled out tonight after being game-time decisions, Curry with a left ankle ailment and Thomas with a back issue. There is no word whether they will play, but would both be a big help with Irving not allowed on the court. Patty Mills would be tasked with manning the backcourt’s offensive duties without the pair.
LaMarcus Aldridge is expected to be sidelined for another week with a hip issue, pushing Andre Drummond further into the fold. The 28-year-old is averaging 11.8 points, 8.2 rebounds, and 1.2 blocks on 68.6% shooting this month.
The Mavericks - SIC score 85.3 are 25-8 since Luka Doncic returned from his ankle injury on Jan. 2, moving up to a tie with the Jazz for the No. 4 seed in the West.
Reggie Bullock will miss Wednesday’s game for personal reasons, putting more pressure on Spencer Dinwiddie and Dorian Finney-Smith to complement Doncic against Durant’s Nets.
Doncic shortly left the Mavericks’ 95-92 win over the Celtics with a hamstring cramp, but quickly returned, adding another to the long list of minor scrapes and bruises he’s picked up this season.
The Mavericks have been their best on 2 days of rest, averaging 108.3 points with 24.3 assists in 9 games this season.
Potential Plays:
U221 Total Points - The Nets will struggle to score outside of Durant with Irving out, Mavericks aren't a threat to score as a team sitting at 26th overall in points per game
Kevin Durant O2.5 Made Threes - The superstar will be relied heavily for offense and will need to score in bunches with Irving on bench, will need to replace the former Celtics long distance shooting
