Browns Lose Greedy Williams and Denzel Ward, Adding To Hamstrung Secondary

The Browns suffered 3 losses to their already-hampered defense Monday night against the Steelers.

Greedy Williams left with 12:24 left in the 2nd quarter after sustaining an apparent aggravation to the long-standing nerve issue in his right shoulder that kept him out for the entire 2020 season, later being ruled out. He previously missed Week 9 and 10 with the same nerve issue.

Linebacker Sione Takitaki suffered a shoulder injury later in the 2nd quarter and was ruled out.

Starting corner Denzel Ward endured a groin injury early in the 3rd quarter and didn't return.

Coming into the contest, Cleveland was already missing both starting safeties, Ronnie Harrison Jr. and John Johnson III, as well as staring cornerback Troy Hill. The 3 DBs are dealing with ankle, hamstring, and knee issues, respectively, and each has missed multiple contests in a row.

Greg Newsome, Grant Delpit, and AJ Green were each able to start and finish tonight's game, although Delpit and Green were shortly on the sideline after bumping knees in the end zone.

The 7-9 Browns face the AFC North Division champion Bengals next week in the finale of their disappointing season after being eliminated from playoff contention tonight.
