Buccaneers Rule Out Three Key Players Ahead of Matchup With Eagles

Tampa Bay has ruled ahead tight end Rob Gronkowski, linebacker Lavonte David and strong safety Antoine Winfield Jr. ahead of the Thursday matchup against the Eagles. Gronkowski will miss his third game since suffering multiple rib fractures Week 2. In retrospect, an IR stint would have made sense, but the team clearly thought the veteran tight end had a good chance to play against Philadelphia. Week 7 will be a full four weeks after the injury and we expect him to be back in full capacity.

David will miss his first game after injuring his ankle Week 5 against the Dolphins. Winfield will miss his second straight game since he suffered a concussion Week 4. The Buccaneers defense, especially the secondary, is getting thinner by the week. Top corner Carlton Davis remains out with a quad injury and No. 2 corner Sean Murphy-Bunting is still recovering from the elbow injury he suffered Week 1.
