Buccaneers Will Be Down Two Top Cornerbacks Against Dolphins

Tampa Bay will be down its top two cornerbacks against the Dolphins in Week 5. Carlton Davis III suffered a significant left quad strain last Sunday and will likely be out 2-3 weeks. The injury will greatly affect his ability to accelerate, which will render the cornerback ineffective until it fully heals. Sean Murphy-Bunting suffered a dislocated elbow in Week 1 and was subsequently placed on IR. He is eligible to return this week, but head coach Bruce Arians told reporters Wednesday that Murphy-Bunting and Davis are not expected back "anytime soon." We expect Murphy-Bunting back before Davis, possibly by Week 6. Jamel Dean missed Week 4 with a knee injury, but has a good chance of playing this week. If all three aren't available to face the Dolphins, the Buccaneers will be left with Ross Cockrell, Dee Delaney and Pierre Desir.
