On an early first-quarter carry, Akers was landed on by another player which compressed his chest as he landed on the ball near the goal line. He was helped off the field holding his right anterior rib margin. Akers has a rib cartilage injury. If he can get a rib block in the locker room we would expect him to be able to finish the game. There's no risk for deep lung issues.
