The Patriots pulled out a come from behind victory over the Jets, and in process Newton took a big hit to his right shoulder, and his head/neck whiplashed. He stated this morning that he worked woke up very sore and could not turn his neck. With stiffness in the region, he is having trouble looking side to side, and this should fade as the week progresses. This certainly is a big deal early on in the week and while he may indeed be limited in practice, we don't see how this is going to prevent him from playing this upcoming week. If he continues to not be able to turn his head, this may become an issue, but in the end, this type of soreness is all part of the collision sport of football.
