A report came out this morning that Newton aggravated his foot injury on Thursday night. He looked subpar and did not go under center or run on a key fourth and one near the goal line. However, Newton did run towards the outside on the first fourth and one of the game. It’s possible he tweaked the foot on Thursday, but it was not evident in any video. Newton’s passing also seemed off last week, but there was no indication of shoulder issues after his two surgeries. I did notice his shorter, almost shot put like throwing motion however. Carolina has ten days between games, but his availability and effectiveness are in question, especially since he was absent at practice today. We will continue to monitor and update Newton’s status.
