The Minnesota Twins placed Carlos Correa on the 10-day IL after he suffered an oblique strain on a checked swing during Saturday’s game.
Correa struck out on the checked swing and immediately clutched his right side which caused him to exit the game prematurely. Correa was immediately placed on the IL the following day.
The Twins offense is already dealing with a lack of offensive firepower with Royce Lewis injuring his quad on Opening Day and later placed on the IL. Entering Tuesday’s games the Twins have scored the 3rd least amount of runs in baseball just ahead of the A’s and White Sox.
Correa commented, “What sucks the most is this is the first April in my career that I’ve felt good. I feel like this is going to be my feel and my swing, this was going to be it for the whole year. And it happens, but at least it’s there. Hopefully, it’s nothing too long and I can get back in there soon.”
