Carlton Davis III, the Buccaneers top corner, left the game just before halftime with a left quad/thigh muscle strain. Davis was blocking on a punt when he suffered the injury in the open field. He was helped off the field with what appeared to be a significant quad/thigh muscle strain and was carted to the locker room. Muscle injuries are common in wet weather and we don't expect to see Davis back today. Coming into the game, the Buccaneers were down No. 2 and No. 3 corners Sean Murphy-Bunting and Jamel Dean. Veteran defensive end Jason Pierre-Paul was also inactive for the game with a shoulder ailment, leaving the Tampa Bay pass defense in flux. Rookie Dee Delaney will likely fill in for Davis, who is likely facing an IR stint.
Update
Davis has been ruled out of the game with a quad injury.
