Colts quarterback Carson Wentz injured his right ankle when he was tackled by Rams defensive end Aaron Donald in the fourth quarter of Week 2. By video, he had his right foot trapped underneath Donald on the tackle and suffered an inversion sprain. The hope is that he can return with his ankle taped up. The offseason surgery he had was on his left foot.
Update
Head Coach Frank Reich said after the game that Wentz rolled his ankle "pretty good," but he did not provide any specifics. Reich said Wentz's ankle stiffened up, preventing him from coming back in the game. We don't anticipate a long term absence or IR stint. There is a chance he plays next week, but it depends on how much the ankle swells.
