Carson Wentz Practices Friday, Expect Him To Play Despite Ankle Injuries

Colts quarterback Carson Wentz was limited in practice on Friday, his first practice appearance since injuring both ankles on an Aaron Donald tackle in Week 2. Wentz is listed as questionable, but we expect him to play against the Titans given the inexperience of his backup options. The former Eagles quarterback reportedly suffered a high-ankle sprain in his right ankle and an inversion sprain in his left ankle during the Week 2 loss. He is also not 100% healthy from the surgery he had on his left foot in the offseason. His mobility was already limited because of the foot injury and now will be even more limited if he plays. With second-string quarterback Sam Ehlinger still out from a preseason knee injury, the Colts are left with second-year quarterback Jacob Eason and seven-year backup Brett Hundley. The Week 3 game is in Tennessee, so if he travels with the team Saturday afternoon it is extremely likely he plays.
