The Cavaliers are expecting to get star rookie big man Evan Mobley back from a sprained ankle on Friday against the Nets.
Mobley practiced fully Thursday and a source says he will play Friday, according to Cleveland.com's Chris Fedor. Head coach J.B. Bickerstaff said that when Mobley does return he will have a minutes restriction.
The 20-year-old has missed the last 5 games after suffering the right ankle sprain on March 28. His return fits with the ProBasketballDocs anticipated timeline, which projected Mobley to be recovered and back for the playoffs.
Cleveland is 1-4 in Mobley's absence, 3-7 in the last 10, and 8-16 since Feb. 12. The up-and-coming Cavs are barely holding onto the No. 7 seed, leading the Nets and Hawks by 1 game with 2 games left in the regular season.
Mobley, who is the favorite to win Rookie of The Year at -150 on FanDuel Sportsbook, is averaging 14.9 points, 8.3 rebounds, 2.5 assists, and 1.6 blocks in 67 games this season.
