The former Saint is dealing with an interesting free agency situation as he agreed to a contract with the Raiders but fell out of "escrow" when final terms could not be agreed upon. It is unclear how big of role lack of team doctor physicals played in this situation as Apple did suffer a left ankle eversion sprain in Week 16 causing him to miss the playoffs. He has had previous ankle and groin issues in the past but nothing significant. The interesting situation is that people are quick to blame the lack of medical physicals as a reason for not consummating a deal but in this case who are the Raiders doctors at this point in time? Are they the same doctors from the Bay Area or new doctors in Las Vegas where the team is now currently located and does the front office trust the new doctors if that is the case? This is an interesting case but from the outside looking in, Apple is not suffering from a significant injury.
