After a series-changing win in Game 4, the Celtics will be without starting center Robert Williams III for another contest.
Robert Williams Injury Update
Williams, 24, is still recovering from meniscus trim surgery he underwent on March 30 and has lingering soreness associated with the injury.
A lateral meniscus tear always requires a longer recovery than a medial meniscus tear, according to the Pro Basketball Docs. When he underwent surgery, his projected recovery timeline was 4-6 weeks.
He returned mid-way through his third week since surgery, but is still dealing with the effects of the injury.
Celtics head coach Ime Udoka told reporters that Williams' movement is restricted by the soreness, which is a factor in why he's out for a second straight game.
Injury Impact on Celtics
Al Horford scored a playoff career-high 30 points in Game 4 and played 41 minutes. He will continue to get the defensive assignment against Giannis Antetokounmpo.
Derrick White also saw increased minutes with Williams out, playing 34 minutes and pouring in 11 points on 4-6 shooting.
Grant Williams started Game 4 and will likely start Game 5. He had 9 points on 3-9 shooting and was 1-5 from 3-point range.
Buck vs Celtics Game 5 Odds
The Celtics are 5 point favorites at home in Game 5 and the over/under is 212.5, according to FanDuel Sportsbook. Boston is -190 to win the series and +440 to win the NBA Finals.
