Celtics vs. Grizzlies: Which Side Has The Injury Edge?

Check out this matchup's Court View here:

Top young talent PG Ja Morant will face the number one defense in the NBA as the Grizzlies head to Boston for a primetime East Coast battle. The Celtics will be without star guard Jaylen Brown who left last game and didn’t return after being diagnosed with a right ankle sprain.

Celtics Team Health: 83.6

The Celtics had a rocky start to the season playing below. 500 basketball but have executed a tremendous bounce back going 14-3 since their 109-105 loss to the Portland Trailblazers.

This can be attributed to their stellar defense which has limited opponents to under 100 points in 10 of their last 17 games.

A key part of their defense is G Jaylen Brown who will miss the contest. His offensive output maybe a bigger loss as it will be hard to replicate his 23.2 ppg.

Expect newcomer G Derrick White (FD $5,700) and G Payton Pritchard (FD $4,000) to share the SG role with each providing value on tonight’s slate.

Grizzlies Team Health: 90.9

Memphis has become the surprise team in NBA this season with many writing them off before the year began. They have shot all they way to the 3rd spot in the Western Conference on the back of All-Star Ja Morant.

In the first game back after the All-Star break, Morant landed awkwardly in the third quarter and left before returning to finish the game. Morant described “pain in his hip area” after making a bad step but has since broken his career high twice in the two games since leaving no doubt that the injury is a non-issue.

Defensive wizard Dillon Brooks has been out since January due to an ankle injury but the emergence of rookie Ziaire Williams (FD $4,000) has cushioned the loss. Williams tied a career high scoring 21 points in the first game out of the all-star break and could splash for a surprise game if the other Grizzlies have trouble scoring.

Depth G John Konchar is questionable to play due to an ankle issue.

Both teams are rather healthy but the recent loss of Brown gives Memphis the injury advantage:
